|
| Hi every body | Sidi Okba, in the middle of an oasis of 100.000 palm trees is an active center of 30.000 inhabitants, of a generous aspect with its dried ground constructions. One also can visit with interest the palm plantations; created at the beginning of the XVIIe century, which are completely remarkable by the proportions and the beauty of the trees. The oasis owes its name to the Arab warrior Okba Ben Nafaa, who died here in (62 of the hegira, 683-684 after J.C.). The tomb of Sidi Okba attracts rather many Moslum pilgrims and the oasis is a religious center for all the area |
